After the conclusion of the Shinto rites at Isawa shrine, these two Mikoshi are paraded throughout the town, first to the GOZU shrine and then to the Hachiouji Shrine.
The unique feature of the Mikoshi parade is the way the Mikoshi are thrown up and down and swung to the left and right. The men who carry the Mikoshi create a rambunctious atmosphere by swinging the Mikoshi to the left and right.
All of the large and small Yatai from each neighborhood gather at the Otabisho.
The twelve Yatai line up in front of the Mikoshi, and when their Chochin lanterns are lit, an elegant air descends upon the scene which transports us back in time to the mid-Edo period.
